Carbon Reduction Reporting: A Requirement for All NHS & Government Suppliers
As part of the UK's commitment to achieving net zero by 2050, Procurement Policy Note 06/21 (PPN 06/21) now requires all suppliers bidding for NHS and Government contracts to have a Carbon Reduction Plan in place. Since April 2024, suppliers must measure their carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2 and a subset of Scope 3 emissions, set out a clear plan to reduce them, and demonstrate a commitment to reaching net zero. Without a compliant CRP, contracts will not be awarded.
